Mirror stainless steel is progressively polished to create a highly reflective surface. Hairline finish uses controlled directional abrasion to produce long, continuous parallel lines. Because commercial names vary, buyers should approve a physical sample and define the viewing direction, lighting and acceptance distance.
Common uses include decorative walls, elevator interiors, luxury fixtures, signage and display equipment. It makes spaces appear brighter, but fingerprints, waviness, scratches and fabrication distortion can be conspicuous.

Finish is not a substitute for alloy selection. In coastal, chloride or aggressive cleaning environments, grade and detailing are critical.
