Choose Bare Rope When
- Frequent visual inspection is required

- A softer contact surface is needed for handling or adjacent components

Failure and Inspection Considerations
Coating does not automatically increase the rope’s rated strength. It can crack, abrade, harden or separate, especially near pulleys and terminations. Ends should be sealed as specified, and damaged coating should trigger inspection of the underlying rope. For either option, the complete assembly is limited by its weakest rope, fitting or termination.
